In celebration of the release of the
Star Wars Trilogy on DVD,
Chewbacca has hit the road to meet fans around the world with the "Where's the
Wookiee?" tour.
The beloved hero of the bestselling Star Wars saga was last spotted in Milan, Italy. Chewie began his day journeying to the Piazza del Duomo, the largest public square in the city and a central meeting point adjacent to one of the most spectacular cathedrals (Il Duomo of Milan) in all of Europe.
Hundreds of people were on the lookout to spot Chewie -- and among them were Federico and Caroline, hosts of MTV Italia's TRL, who took some time out of their day to make Chewie a guest on the program and show him around the city.
While he did his best to scare away pigeons on the Piazza, Chewbacca finally had to acquiesce to them and walk carefully toward the Galeria Vittorio Emanuale, an incredible glass-covered shopping passage. As they strode down the Corso Vittorio Emanuale, Chewie and his new friends greeted fans and paused to try on clothes in the heart of Europe's fashion capital.
Chewie also paid a visit to Messagiere Musicali, a major home-entertainment store in Milan, where he made sure to pick up the Italian copy of the "Star Wars Trilogia." After his shopping expedition, it was time to head to an appointment with "Markette TV," a new Italian late-night talk show. And then, a stop at a local travel (Viaggi) agency, where he planned out his next stop.
Chewie began his world tour in Tokyo, Japan, but has also been seen in London, England, Sydney, Australia, Berlin, Germany, and Madrid, Spain.
Chewie will continue his travels across the globe to celebrate release of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD box set. So keep your eyes peeled, and if you see the Walking Carpet in person, say hello. The first few fans who offer a friendly handshake may be rewarded with a Star Wars Trilogy DVD box set!

Should he stop off in Monaco for a quick card game? Or perhaps ski the Swiss alps? Maybe he will wind up eating croissants in Paris? With only one stop left on his world tour, he just can't make up his mind...
