Where in the World is the Wookiee?
September 15, 2004

[ Click Here To View Images ] In celebration of the release of the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD, Chewbacca has hit the road to meet fans around the world with the "Where's the Wookiee?" tour.

To start off his adventures, he traveled first to Tokyo, Japan to take in the sights such as the Tokyo Tower and the Johzohji temple, sipped a bit of tea, sampled some sushi and met his legions of fans.

[ Where in the World is the Wookiee? ] Before wandering around the bustling Roppongi district, Chewie began his busy day appearing on he popular morning TV program in Japan -- "Mezamashi" (which means "Wake up!"). Within a few minutes of Chewie's appearance, the producer informed the crew that the station received more than 100 calls from viewers wanting to know if Chewie was staying in Japan and whether they would be able to meet him. A few even asked if he was a "real" Wookiee.

Japan isn't the only place Chewie has on his itinerary. He will be traveling across the globe up until the release of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD box set on Sept. 21.

Keep your eyes peeled, and if you see the Walking Carpet in person, say hello. The first few fans who offer a friendly handshake may be rewarded with a Star Wars Trilogy DVD box set!
