Classic Trilogy Update: Japan Release

[ Classic Trilogy Update: Japan Release ]The release of The Phantom Menace brought in scores of new Star Wars fans around the world. Now fans in Japan will be able to own the classic films of the Special Edition trilogy when it is released there on VHS videocassette, a THX Certified Title, on November 22, 2000. The boxed set of three movies will be available in pan-and-scan editions in both subtitled and dubbed versions, and include the exclusive ten-minute sneak peek at the making of Episode II. The set has a suggested retail price of 6,980 yen.

Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment are releasing the classic trilogy around the world. So far, the countries announced include Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Mexico.
