From the Movies
Even when standing still, or towed to the starting grid by a bantha, Neva Kee's Podracer is unmistakably different from all the others entered in the Boonta Eve Classic. The blue and silver craft is not made up of a cockpit connected to engines via control cables. Instead, rigid bracing arms connect a forward-mounted cockpit to massive engines. This gives Kee increased visibility and control, but it is a very risky design. Should Kee ever crash, his cockpit makes contact with the ground first. Also, if the engines should explode, the pilot is caught right in the middle.
From the Expanded Universe
Neva Kee's Podracer bends numerous racing rules with its non-traditional design. The experimental Farwan & Glott FG 8T8-Twin Block2 Special offers increased control, visibility, and even fame to Kee, but in truth, it is a mediocre Podracer. Although it has great traction and acceleration, its top speed is relatively slow at 785 kilometers per hour and the Y-frame Podracer has lackluster turning performance
Behind the Scenes
Although Neva Kee's dragster is the only one without control cables, early concept art had numerous Podracers share that same design feature.
