An opposition Senator in the Old Republic, Po Nudo represented the Aqualish people of Ando. He was present at Count Dooku's treasonous meeting of the minds on Geonosis that saw the formal formation of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
During the Clone Wars, Nudo served on the Separatist Council, the board of executives that funded and governed the Confederacy of Independent Systems under Count Dooku and General Grievous. The former Senator was killed by Darth Vader when the Sith mastermind behind the Clone Wars no longer had need for the Separatists.
From the Expanded Universe
The Aqualish of Ando have fostered a disdain for the Republic for decades. Upon first contact, violence broke out between the Republic and Andoan natives. The Republic initiated a demilitarization of the Andoan people for which the Aqualish have long been resentful.
When a flurry of secessions began spreading throughout the galaxy, sparked by Count Dooku and his growing Separatist movement, the planet Ando left the Republic. Po Nodu brought his resource rich world and holdings into the Separatist fold, even though other Aqualish colonies were very critical of the move and remained loyal to the Republic.
Behind the Scenes
Separatist Senator Po Nudo from Ando was realized as an actor wearing a slip-on mask and gloves. In Episode II, a Senate pod appears full of Aqualish delegates, suggesting that not all Aqualish seceded from the Republic. Indeed, as explained on HoloNet News, a number of Aqualish colony worlds banded together to show support for the beleaguered Republic.
