As one of the artists involved in the exciting new series of Topps cards that celebrate the Indiana Jones films, Jessica Hickman explains that this project has special meaning for her as a long-time fan. "I've been a fan of the Indiana Jones films since I first saw Raiders of the Lost Ark as a child," Hickman explains. "The films were so incredible to see on the big screen. The characters are still memorable after all this time, and I jumped at the chance to be a part of this legacy."
"The films are incredible," Hickman continues. "Raiders has everything you would want in a movie experience -- action, drama, comedy, tension, heroes versus villains, a compelling storyline, memorable characters and the music! John Williams just makes you experience every little up and down in such a subtle way. The whole look of these films also has this rich, warm hue to them. I never get tired of watching them."
Of all the characters Hickman was tasked to draw for the series, she admits that the ladies of Indy are the most interesting to her. "I'd have to say Marion," Hickman says. "I always seem to gravitate toward the strong female characters and her physical abilities and sense of humor made me an instant fan. Indiana Jones is such a strong character and she can hold her own against him in every way."
