February 20, 2008

As one of the artists involved in the exciting new series of Topps cards that celebrate the Indiana Jones films, Kevin Graham remembers seeing everyone's favorite archeologist for the first time. "I really enjoyed watching all of the Indiana Jones movies when I was younger," Graham says. "They leave an ever lasting impression in your mind of the good old adventure movies. I have two sons that just watched the movies this year for the first time and loved them."

"George Lucas is great at telling a story," Graham continues. "He creates captivating characters and well thought out story lines. The stories appeal to all ages. All of the Indiana Jones movies are packed with non-stop action, humor for kids and adults, and romance. Did I mention action? The movies make you feel like you are part of the adventure and when they are over they leave you wanting more. The movies have held up over the years and in return many generations have enjoyed them and will continue to."

Of all the characters Graham was tasked to draw for the series, a non-human won out as his favorite. "I'd have to say I really enjoyed drawing the monkey from Raiders of the Lost Ark," Graham says. "I've always loved drawing wild animals -- they are very involved with detail. But I was sad the poor little monkey died by eating the poisoned dates. No fret though, he was reincarnated as the evil monkey on 'Family Guy.' Mola Ram was a fun evil character to draw also."

Here's a first look at the sketch cards from Graham.
