The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones Volume Two arrives on DVD tomorrow, December 18, in a nine-disc boxed set (see the original announcement here). In addition to eight discs of feature-length episodes and supplemental historical documentaries, the set comes with an interactive bonus disc. Here's a tour of that ninth disc.

Historical Lecture: War and Revolution (1:02:31). Completing the educational component of this second volume of Young Indy adventures is an hour-long lecture hosted by H.W. Brands, noted author and Professional of History at the University of Texas at Austin. While the various documentaries found on the other discs cover a multitude of subjects, this overview puts all the many topics into a larger context and perspective.

The second decade of the 20th century was one marked by war and revolution. These twin scourges of humanity seemed to change everyone's view of what international affairs -- and indeed human nature -- were all about. Although war and revolution seem to be contradictory to the promise of progress, in a certain sense they grew out of the same ideas. See how this idea shaped the 20th century, with a focus on the revolutions in Russia, China and Mexico, as well as the European tensions that erupted in the Great War and soon stretched around the globe. Produced by David Schneider. Written by H.W. Brands.
