The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones Volume Two arrives on DVD on December 18 in a nine-disc boxed set (
see the original announcement here.) Here's a look at what's on the eighth disc.
Daredevils of the Desert (1:21:47) Set in Gaza 1917, Indiana Jones is operating undercover for French Intelligence in the Middle East. The British have a plan to take Jerusalem by Christmas, and to do so they need to attack the ancient desert town of Beersheba, a fortification protected by the arduous stretches of desert that surround it. Colonel Meinertzhagen and Major T.E. Lawrence brief and equip Jones on his assignment. He must do all he can to protect the wells in Beersheba, or else the British and Australian forces tasked to attack will surely die of thirst.
Posing as a trader, Indy is teamed with a beautiful spy named Maya. They trek across the desert and infiltrate Beersheba. Intrigue and betrayal abound as Indy and his fellow intelligence agents come face-to-face with the Turkish commander Colonel Ismet Bey and his German attaché Schiller. The story culminates in a spectacular cavalry charge by the gallant soldiers of the Australian Lighthorseman Regiment whose very survival hinges on the success of Indy's mission.
Daredevils of the Desert stars Sean Patrick Flanery as Indy. Guest stars include Catherine Zeta Jones (Traffic) as Maya, Julian Firth (Scum) as Meinertzhagen, Cameron Daddo ("Models, Inc.") as Jack Anders, Douglas Henshall (Lawless Heart) as T.E. Lawrence, Haluk Bilginer (Robbery Alla Turca) as Colonel Ismet Bey, and Daniel Craig (The Golden Compass, Casino Royale) as Schiller.

Lines in the Sand: The Middle East and the Great War (0:34:29). The Ottoman Empire once spanned three continents, stretching from Budapest to Basra to Algiers. Founded around 1300 , it created a rich, multi-ethnic world that was Islamic in faith and tolerant in practice. But by the early 20th century,
the Empire was under attack from without and challenged from within. When World War broke out in 1914, the Ottomans had to choose sides. They cast their lot with Germany and Austria, and against Britain, France, and Russia. That decision would lead to the Empire's final destruction -- and the creation of the modern Middle East.
Produced and written by Sharon Wood.
Colonel Lawrence's War: T.E. Lawrence and Arabia (0:36:05). He was an action hero as well as an intellectual hero. T.E. Lawrence escaped a safe office job during World War I to become a guerilla war mastermind in desert combat, fighting alongside Arabs to throw off the rule of the Ottoman Empire. But despite British promises of Arab independence, the Middle East would end up being carved by European colonial treaties, and Lawrence faced the challenges of keeping his word to his trusted compatriots of the desert. Produced and written by Sharon Wood.
