Jim Broadbent Joins Indy Cast

Renowned actor Jim Broadbent has joined the cast of the latest Indiana Jones film, which began principal photography on Monday, June 18, 2007. Broadbent's rich and varied repertoire in film, television and stage includes many celebrated roles. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Iris, which also earned him the Golden Globe Award. Broadbent received a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor for his boisterous performance in Moulin Rouge!, and his memorable turn as W.S. Sullivan in Topsy-Turvy earned him a BAFTA nomination in the same category. Broadbent's other screen credits include Time Bandits, Brazil, The Crying Game, Bridget Jones's Diary, Gangs of New York, Longford, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. He was most recently seen in the action comedy Hot Fuzz.

Broadbent joins recently announced cast-members John Hurt, Ray Winstone and Cate Blanchett, as well as Shia LaBeouf and Harrison Ford in the making of the next Indiana Jones adventure.The film is a Lucasfilm Ltd. Production, directed by Steven Spielberg and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Frank Marshall returns as producer with Kathleen Kennedy joining George Lucas as executive producer. It is due out on May 22, 2008.
