Residents and visitors to the Los Angeles area will have a unique opportunity to see some of the actual costumes used for Episode I in February. The Art of Motion Picture Costume Design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise is an exhibit of costumes, sketches, film clips and other memorabilia from both current and classic films. Voting members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will receive special invitations to attend the annual event.

Lucasfilm is pleased to have several costumes included in the exhibit. The costumes of Darth Maul, Chancellor Valorum, a Palace Guard, a Naboo Security Officer, Anakin's Jedi costume and two Queen Amidala gowns are expected to be on display.

The exhibit is open free of charge to the general public from February 21 to April 28, 2000, Monday through Friday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
