Star Wars Weekends are almost here, and starting next month the power of the Force and the magic of Disney will once again combine for four weekends of
Star Wars fun at the Disney-MGM Studios in Florida.
From May 20 to June 12, 2005, fans of all ages and Star Wars characters of all varieties will converge to celebrate the heroes, villains and droids of the saga. In addition to Star Wars costumed characters, fun activities, and the Star Tours theme park ride, celebrity guests will be in attendance for meet-and-greet sessions, star conversations, and a classic Hollywood-style motorcade.
Here is the list of celebrity guests of Star Wars actors and crew from Industrial Light & Magic currently scheduled to attend, however please check back here for future updates to the guest list as it may be subject to change.
May 20, 21 & 22 -- Daniel Logan & John Goodson Daniel Logan, who played the young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones, will be the special guest for this year's first Star Wars Weekend. Joining him is John Goodson who began as an ILM Concept Model Maker for Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, and then worked as a Viewpaint Artist for numerous scenes in Revenge of the Sith including the epic opening space battle.
May 27, 28 & 29 -- Peter Mayhew & Rob Coleman A fan favorite from the classic trilogy, Peter Mayhew is no stranger to Star Wars Weekends. The towering Peter Mayhew played Chewbacca the Wookiee in the classic trilogy, and will again appear in Revenge of the Sith. ILM Visual Effects Supervisor Rob Coleman worked on the memorable digital effects for all three of the prequels including Revenge of the Sith. His talent for raising the acting quality of the digital creatures helps animators understand that they are actors too.
June 3, 4 & 5 -- Warwick Davis & Don Bies Warwick Davis was only 11 years old when he played the Ewok hero Wicket in Return of the Jedi. In Episode I, he played multiple roles, including that of Anakin's young friend Wald. Droid Unit Supervisor and ILM Model Maker Don Bies knows a thing or two about R2-D2, C-3PO and their fellow droids. For Revenge of the Sith, Bies joins forces with the other ILM model makers in creating the elaborate Wookiee tree, and continues with his duties as R2-D2's wrangler.
June 10, 11 & 12 -- Jerome Blake & Brian Gernand Actor Jerome Blake and ILM Model Maker Brian Gernand team up for this year's final Star Wars Weekend. Playing numerous alien roles in The Phantom Menace, including the Neimoidian Rune Haako and Mas Amedda, the Vice Chair of the Senate, Blake briefly reprises his role as Mas Amedda for one scene in Revenge of the Sith. Joining him is ILM's Brian Gernand, who as the Practical Model Supervisor for Revenge of the Sith helped to create fantastical models, including the volcanoes on Mustafar, sinkholes on Utapau and the intricate Wookiee tree dwellings on Kashyyyk for Revenge of the Sith.
