May 03, 2000

[ This Weekend at Disney-MGM ]Disney-MGM Studios in Florida doubles as a galaxy far, far away this weekend with the launch of Star Wars Weekends. This exciting celebration of the entire Star Wars saga features characters from all four Star Wars films, and runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in May.

The first weekend of May 5-7, 2000 features actors Hugh Quarshie (Captain Panaka) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) in a celebrity motorcade and question-and-answer session. Running throughout the day are behind-the-scenes Star Wars video diaries, a Jedi training camp where kids test their lightsaber skills, and Star Wars face-painting.

In addition to such stellar attractions as Star Tours, and the nightly Cantina Street Party, Star Wars Weekends features exclusive merchandise not available anywhere else! From t-shirts, to posters, to collectors pins, these new collectibles proudly display the Star Wars Weekend logo.

[ This Weekend at Disney-MGM ] Future scheduled guests to Star Wars Weekends include:

May 19-21 - Jake Lloyd (Anakin Skywalker) and Dave Prowse (Darth Vader)
