Insiders' Guide to Celebration III --- Saturday and Sunday

This is it -- your last guide to print out and take with you to the Indiana Convention Center this week! The Insiders' Guide will help you make the most out of your weekend at Star Wars Celebration III -- help you not miss some of the outstanding guests and entertainment that will be taking place throughout the Convention Center.

Saturday, April 23:
10:30 -- 11:30 am Double Trouble! Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and David Prowse (Darth Vader, original trilogy) talk about their experiences making history in the Star Wars saga. Host Warwick Davis on the Saga Stage (Hall G).

11:00 am -- 12:00 pm Concept and Sculpture: Creating Star Wars Creatures. Concept Artists Iain McCaig and Robert Barnes will get the audience involved in creating a new creature that could fit in the Star Wars galaxy. Both members of the prequel art department, these talented artists will both draw and sculpt in a live demonstration, with help from the audience. There's a second show at 1:30 pm on Sunday if you miss this one. Behind-the-Scenes Stage (Room 109) with host Doug Steves.

11:30 am -- 12:30 pm Roger Guyett -- Effects in Filmmaking. Roger Guyett was the Visual Effects Supervisor for some of the most anticipated scenes in Revenge of the Sith -- the Battle on Kashyyyk and the battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin on Mustafar. Guyett and his crew were nominated for an Academy Award for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as well. His is a presentation that effects enthusiasts will not want to miss. 500 Ballroom with MC Tom Berg.

12:00 --1:00 pm Jabba's Palace Reunion! See stars of Jabba's palace together for the first time since Return of the Jedi. Saga Stage host Warwick Davis has something special planned to celebrate the event. Femi Taylor (Oola), David Barclay and Toby Philpott (Jabba the Hutt), Simon Williamson (Max Rebo), Sean Crawford (Yakface), Tim Rose (Salacious Crumb), and Gerald Home (Tessek).

12:00 -- 1:00 pm Darth Vader Costuming. Learn the secrets behind making this most impressive costume from the experts in the 501st Legion. Star Wars Fan Stage, Wabash 3.

12:30 -- 1:30 pm The Art of Revenge of the Sith, on the Behind-the-Scenes stage. The worlds of Star Wars are visually striking and memorable. Listen and ask questions as J.W. Rinzler, author of the best-selling book; Iain Morris, Art Director at Lucas Licensing; and Erik Tiemens and Ryan Church, Concept Design Supervisors, talk about the creative process behind the galaxy.

1:30 -- 2:30 PM Heart of an Empire. Three years ago, documentarian Jay Thompson set out to do what he thought would be a simple film on the 501st Legion. Thompson found himself drawn in through ways he never expected. Join him as he talks about his unforgettable experiences making the film Heart of an Empire. Star Wars Fan Stage, Wabash 3.

3:00 -- 4:00 pm An Hour With Warwick Davis. Warwick Davis gets his turn on stage to be interviewed by host Jay Laga'aia on the Sagamore Ballroom stage.

3:00 -- 4:00 pm Portfolio Review with the Lucasfilm Art Directors. It's not too late to pack along your portfolio to Celebration III. Iain Morris and Troy Alders, Lucas Licensing Art Directors will be sharing tips, praise, and constructive criticism for hopeful artists. Invaluable input from some of the best in the business! Star Wars Fan Stage, Wabash 3.

3:30 -- 4:30 pm Continuity: Keeping a Universe in Order. It's a big, big galaxy out there, and the keepers of Star Wars lore have a big job making sure nothing is in conflict. Find out how they do it, and more about what's to come, with authors Troy Denning, Timothy Zahn, and Aaron Allston, Shelly Shapiro of Del Rey, and Sue Rostoni and Leland Chee of Lucasfilm. Pablo Hidalgo of starwars.com will moderate. Behind-the-Scenes Stage.

4:30 -- 5:30 pm From Concept to Filming: Building the Magic. The Sagamore Ballroom will host an amazing collection of filmmaking talent during this presentation. Erik Tiemens, Ryan Church, Dan Gregoire, Don Bies, Lorne Peterson, and Danny Wagner will cover filmmaking from concept art to animatics to model construction -- all the creativity that creates the Star Wars galaxy long before the cameras even roll. Sagamore Ballroom with Jay Laga'aia.

4:30 -- 5:30 pm Advanced Droid Building with the R2-D2 Builders on the Fan Stage, Wabash 3.

5:00 -- 6:00 pm Title Reveal! The next arc in the best-selling Star Wars novel series is upon us, and the creators will reveal the title in this special panel at Celebration III. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions from the authors and publishers, and hear about the unique approach planned for this series. Arc authors Aaron Allston, Karen Traviss, and Troy Denning, plus Shelly Shapiro of Del Rey, and Sue Rostoni and Leland Chee of Lucasfilm. Behind-the-Scenes Stage (109).

6:00 -- 7:00 pm Knoll Vision: Inside Revenge. If you missed John Knoll's presentation on Friday, don't miss it today! And if you saw his presentation you'll probably want to see it again. Sagamore Stage.

6:00 -- 7:00 pm The Sights of Star Wars. Part two, the international edition, of with Brandon Alinger and Jeremy Beckett. Star Wars Fan Stage.

6:30 -- 7:30 pm Jedi Action! The Jedi face off with Warwick Davis on the Saga Stage. Amy Allen (Aayla Secura), Jesse Jensen (Saesee Tiin), Zach Jensen (Kit Fisto), Orli Shoshan (Shaak Ti), Mary Oyaya (Luminara Unduli), and Nalini Krishan (Barriss Offee).

Sunday, April 24
10:30 -- 11:30 am The Effects Authorities. Visual Effects Supervisors John Knoll and Roger Guyett share a look inside the amazing process of creating visual effects. Behind-the-Scenes stage with Doug Steves.

12:00 -- 1:00 pm Timothy Zahn: Outbound Flight. The author often credited for the renaissance of Star Wars in recent years, Zahn will talk about his highly-anticipated novel Outbound Flight. Join him with MC Doug Steves on the Behind-the-Scenes stage.

12:00 -- 1:00 pm Learn about the secrets of creating those amazing stormtrooper costumes that you have seen all over Celebration III this weekend. The costume masters of the 501st Legion will preside on the Star Wars Fan Stage.

1:30 -- 2:30 pm Wookiees! Who doesn't love Wookiees? Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Michael Kingma (Tarfful) will chat on the Sagamore Stage with host Jay Laga'aia. Dave and Lou Elsey, the talented Creature Shop stars who created the Wookiee costumes for Revenge of the Sith will appear, too.

1:30 -- 2:30 pm Concept and Sculpture: Creating Star Wars Creatures. Hit this one again! Iain McCaig and Robert Barnes can be expected to present a fresh new angle, and more fun. Behind-the-Scenes Stage.

1:30 -- 2:30 pm Star Wars Trivia Game Show on the Fan Stage (Wabash 3). Compete for a chance to win THX surround computer speakers from Klipsch!

3:00 -- 4:00 pm The Making of Revenge of the Sith. If you missed it Thursday be sure you hit this show for in-depth insights into the creation of the film with best-selling author J.W. Rinzler.

3:00 -- 4:00 pm The Bad Girls of Star Wars. It's so good to be bad! Michonne Bourriague (Aurra Sing), Sandi Finlay (Sly Moore), Christine Hewitt (Brea Tonnika), and Leeanna Walsman (Zam Wesell) together on stage with host Jay Laga'aia.
