The
Star Wars universe is a visually dazzling place, with characters, planets, and amazing creatures that lend themselves to memorable artwork.
Art fans will have the opportunity to purchase such memorable pieces from noted Star Wars artists -- artwork created exclusively for Celebration III, and available in very limited quantities. Many of the artists at the show will also be available to create custom, one-of-a-kind works for fans by request.
Here is the extremely talented line-up of artists who will be exhibiting at Celebration III, and who each have created a piece specifically for the event.
Steve Anderson has been creating Star Wars art for over 10 years, his first projects being puzzles and calendars for Hallmark. Since then, as a freelance illustrator, Anderson has created artwork for the Lucas Licensing Style Guides for Episodes I, II, and III, filled with illustrations that were used on domestic and international Star Wars merchandise. Anderson has also created numerous covers for Random House books including the novelization for Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, the Clone Wars novel series, Labyrinth of Evil, several e-books, and the New Essential Guide series. The artist lives in Portland, Oregon.
For over a decade, Matt Busch has been creating illustrations for Star Wars products around the globe. Beginning with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game from West End Games, Busch soon found himself working with many of Lucasfilm's licensees, including producing cover art for Bantam Books. More recently, Busch has illustrated nearly 3,000 Sketch Cards for Topps' Heritage and Revenge of the Sith trading card series, as well as producing a limited edition print, exclusive for Celebration III. Joe Corroney has been providing Lucasfilm with Star Wars artwork for books, games, trading cards and magazines since 1997, including his recently penciled Star Wars: Empire for Dark Horse Comics. Chicago-based illustrator

Dave Dorman's commercial focus was nurtured within the comics industry, creating unique paintings for covers of popular books featuring Batman, Aliens, and Indiana Jones. Dorman created over 100 paintings for Lucasfilm and its Licensees, some of which were assembled in a coffee table art collection, Star Wars: The Art of Dave Dorman, which was a top-seller for Random House in 1996. Jan Duursema has been a Star Wars fan since the first time she saw A New Hope. She has been happily penciling various Star Wars projects for Dark Horse Comics since 1999, shortly after seeing The Phantom Menace. Since that time she has done many works for Dark Horse, including the graphic novel adaptation of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones; Darth Maul; and Star Wars: Jedi. Duursema describes her most amazing Star Wars moment as seeing the Twi'lek Jedi character Aayla Secura, whom she and John Ostrander helped create for the Dark Horse Republic series Twilight, step out of the comic book and come to life on the big screen in Attack of the Clones.
A student of the Art Center College of Design in California, Tommy Lee Edwards' illustration background ranges from licensing and editorial to books, comics, film, and animation. Some well-known projects in his portfolio include promotion and product art for Harry Potter, Men in Black, Batman Begins, Superman Returns, and Dinotopia. Edwards' Star Wars credits include Random House Children's Books Darth Maul's Revenge; Anakin: Apprentice; and Obi-Wan's Foe. Tom Hodges has been on the Lucasfilm Star Wars artist list since July, 2004. Recently he drew nearly 5,000 sketch cards for the Star Wars: Heritage and Revenge of the Sith series. Adam Hughes is best known as a "good girl" comic book artist. Clark D. Mitchell is the chief illustrator for 4g2 and one of the company's founders. Clark has worked with Universal Studios, Blockbuster, Radio Shack, Time Magazine, Hasbro, Sports Illustrated and Sports Illustrated for Kids, Pepsi, Frito Lay, Jolly Time, Planters, Kellogg's, Coors, and Budweiser. He received his BFA from Sam Houston State University in 1985 with a specialization in commercial art and attended the Portfolio Center in Atlanta following graduation. Clark's powerful Star Wars images revitalized Hasbro's Unleashed brand, helped create a successful new line of Galactic Heroes toys, and provided Hasbro's trade dress for Episode III packaging.
Monte Moore is dedicating his Celebration III art print, titled Empire of Vision, to Ralph McQuarrie, whom he describes as "the original Star Wars concept artist who brought so many of George's visions to life, and was a big inspiration to me personally."
Jason Palmer's work for the Celebration III Art Show is an acrylic painting celebrating The Empire Strikes Back for its 25th Anniversary.
Brian Rood is a professional illustrator who works in the entertainment, comic, and commercial art fields. He is best known for his photo-realistic paintings of Hollywood's stars and comic book characters. Brian has been a fan of Star Wars most of his life, literally. He was only two when the first film hit theatres. Brian has worked on Star Trek, The Crow, X-men, The Matrix Reloaded, Marvel characters: Spiderman, and more, but something was still missing... Japanese artist
Tsuneo Sanda set up his design studio, Creative House of Sanda Ltd., in 1993. He has produced work for
Omni magazine, and worked with Paramount Pictures on
Star Trek artwork. For the

Howard M. Shum is a filmmaker, artist, and writer. He has a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Purdue University and has studied film at New York University. Cat Staggs became an official Star Wars artist in December of 2004, sketching Revenge of the Sith sketch cards for Topps. Of her 131 detailed portrait-style illustrations, Obi Wan was among her most favorite characters. Many of her cards were recently featured in an article on the official site, www.starwars.com. Ken Steacy decided at age eleven to become a comic book author and illustrator, and has since written and drawn the adventures of many cool characters, including Astro Boy, Harry Potter, and Spider-man. He has illustrated

As a freelance illustrator Chris Trevas has worked on Star Wars projects since 1995, starting with the original Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. When Star Wars first came out, Jerry Vanderstelt was nine years old. "It was magic!" he says. "Although I saw the movie on a crusty drive-in-movie screen through old AM radio speakers of my parents' Buick, it had a wonder about it that has had me hooked ever since." The artist also credits Tolkien and C.S. Lewis with inspiring his work. His current client list includes: Ace, Roc, Pocket and Scholastic books. Although his original career goals included both becoming bionic and joining the Rebellion against the Empire, Russell Walks eventually decided that his destiny lay along another path, and chose art school over adventure. Since beginning his career as a professional illustrator, Walks has created art based on licensed properties for clients including Lucasfilm, Paramount and Warner Brothers, while his award-winning children's-themed work has appeared in a variety of books and magazines. Currently living in Montana, Walks spends his days drawing, painting and counting himself lucky that he actually gets paid for doing what he loves.

Brent Woodside's first official Star Wars project was the Topps Revenge of the Sith sketch cards. Of the 206 cards he drew, his favorite cards were the clone troopers. Often working under the penname Nihm, he has collaborated on many projects with Chelsea Gallion, his girlfriend and colorist.
