Back in 1993, Japan launched "George Lucas' Super Live Adventure", a live-action stage performance which showcased several properties from the Lucasfilm pantheon -- Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Willow, Tucker, American Graffiti, etc. -- in song and dance. Tailored to Japanese sensibilities, it was probably felt the costumed spectacle wouldn't translate effectively to American audiences. We did, however, get Ewoks on Ice.
