During production of Episode I:
The Phantom Menace, chief artist
Doug Chiang took up where
Ralph McQuarrie's paintbrush left off, and brought a new look for the beginning of the
Star Wars prequels. ScreenThemes presents two new galleries featuring Episode I concept art from Chiang.
The collections include various black and white concept sketches of Podracers, battle droids, droidekas and vehicles such as the Gungan bongo, the STAP (Single Trooper Aerial Platform), and the Trade Federation MTT (Multi-Troop Transports), among others.
Episode I illustrations galleries 1 and 2 joins ScreenThemes' classic C-3PO and R2-D2, Princess Leia, Darth Maul duels, Yoda on Dagobah, Battle of Hoth, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Episode I artwork, Battle at Sarlacc Pit and breathtaking Episode II action galleries, as well as the recently added Podracer illustrations gallery.
