Next month, Disney-MGM Studios in Florida will double as the
Star Wars galaxy with the return of
Star Wars Weekends. In addition to such stellar attractions as
a roster of celebrity guests and
fun, Force-filled activities,
Star Wars Weekends features exclusive merchandise not available anywhere else.
This year's Star Wars Weekends art by Randy Noble showcases Yoda the Jedi Master and Mickey Mouse as a Jedi Knight, standing back-to-back. The art will be featured in a number of collectibles, and will be available as a framed print, as a logo pin, and as a coin available in a display case.
Making this year's assortment of exclusive pins special is the use of photographic art from Episode II. The first weekend sees the release of four action scene pins depicting exciting sequences from Attack of the Clones. These pins have an edition size of 3,500.
In addition to these four, there are ten character spinner pins. The pins rotate within a frame, with photographic character art on one side, and the Star Wars Weekends logo on the other. The character spinner pins have an edition size of 2,000. Two will debut each week for the five consecutive weekends that the Star Wars Weekends event runs. Though the release order is subject to change, here's what is currently scheduled:
Week 1 - C-3PO, clone trooper
Week 2 - Count Dooku, Yoda
Week 3 - Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi
Week 4 - Padmé Amidala, R2-D2
Week 5 - Mace Windu, Jango Fett
Other items this year include a spinner key-chain, a Star Wars Weekends mug, and a handsome watch featuring the Yoda and Mickey artwork, which comes with a storage box marked with the Star Wars Weekends logo.
Exclusive apparel available at Star Wars Weekends includes a baseball hat, polo shirt, and T-shirt.
