An E.A. Kids by Ethan Allen chair hand-decorated by
James Earl Jones will be auctioned off to benefit New York's disadvantaged families at an event on May 7 at New York's Jacob Javits Convention Center.
The "Chairs that Care" program, which was developed in 1999 by Ethan Allen and the Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) invites celebrity icons to donate their time to create a "mini-masterpiece" by decorating an E.A. Kids chair. All proceeds from the auction will go to CMOM to support its outreach programs aimed at providing creative educational experiences to under-served families.
Jones, who provided the voice of Darth Vader in the classic Star Wars trilogy, joins many celebrities, including Robert DeNiro, David Arquette, Courtney Cox Arquette, Giorgio Armani, Fred Rogers, and Sesame Street's Elmo, in this cause.
The chair, in characteristic black, is adorned with James Earl Jones' handwriting, quoting many of Vader's most memorable lines from the classic trilogy. For more information, visit the Ethan Allen website here.
