This Episode I Pepsi R2-D2 can holder is one of my favorite Japanese Star Wars collectibles. This item was only available in Japan via the Episode I Pepsi campaign. In addition, this was one of my first Japanese R2-D2 pieces to add to my collection. I followed it up by tracking down the actual can you had to get in order to send in for the R2-D2 promotional prize.

Why do I like it? Well other than the fact that it's R2-D2 (www.r2d2central.com), it seems to hold a place in my mind when Star Wars was finally back and not just in video game form. This was the beginning of a whole new adventure into that galaxy far, far away. I get goose bumps just thinking back to the energy that surrounded the Star Wars community leading up to and after the release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace. -- Dustin Roberts
