We don't know how US apparel manufactures could have missed this one -- Hawaiian-style Star Wars shirts definitely feel like something that should have come from one of our coastal states, or even the Aloha State itself. But alas, the Japanese thought of it first.
From Japan's Wonder Works, these Star Wars-patterned shirts sported imagery of comics, Tatooine, space dogfights, and 'wanted' posters, among other iconic fare. Released around the time Episode I was hitting theaters, the Star Wars Wonder Works line, which also included some ultra-cool Japanese-inspired Star Wars screen printing, has become extremely difficult to find stateside.
