Kotobukiya's new Bounty Hunter Series, recently announced
here, adds three new statues to its acclaimed ARTFX series:
IG-88,
Bossk and
4-LOM!
Under commission of the
Galactic Empire, Holowan Labratories created the elite assassin droid IG-88...but may have done their job all too well, as IG-88's first action was to murder his designers and creators. Quickly establishing itself as the top bounty hunter in the galaxy (second only to
Boba Fett), the "Phlutdroid" is both utilized and feared by the Empire. The deadly droid stands over 11 inches tall, and has special articulated shoulders, allowing you to pose him as you wish. Every piston, every wire, every mechanical detail has been meticulously recreated utilizing the vast reference material from the Lucasfilm archives -- including angles and views of the robot that never appeared on camera in
Empire.
The remorseless Bossk (whose name translates as "Devours His Prey" in his native Trandonshan tongue) is a hunter with a reputation feared galaxy wide, and also an heir to the leadership of the Bounty Hunter Guild. The reptilian humanoid stands almost a foot tall (11 3/4 in 1/7th scale), with his scales and features exactingly replicated, resulting in an uncannily detailed appearance. Posed on the prowl for his latest target, Bossk includes his Rebley-v10 Micro Grenade Launcher.
While 4-LOM's name is officially an acronym of "For Love Or Money", the bounty hunter seems to prefer the latter, as his core programming has been modified in order for acts of crime to be found enjoyable to him. Armed with his BlasTech LJ-90 Concussion Rifle held high, 4-LOM stands 11 inches tall, and is superbly detailed throughout, with particular attention shown in the intricacies of his abdominal area.
Each of the Bounty Hunters will include special bonus parts to collect. Once all six Hunters have been released, you will be able to assemble the bonus parts into a brand new, full size
Darth Vader ARTFX Statue! The bases in this series can be linked together on any side, creating a variety of display options for the full series of characters. Line them up as first seen in
Empire, or use the Darth Vader as a centerpiece to assemble the bases to create the symbol of the Galactic Empire! IG-88's bonus part is: Darth Vader's Display Base; Bossk's bonus part is: Darth Vader's Torso and Right Arm #1; 4-LOM's is: lower half of Darth Vader's body.
With its large scale and impeccable paint applications, the ARTFX Statues are snap-fit that can be easily put together in seconds without glue or modeling skill.
Look for IG-88 in June, and Bossk and 4-LOM in July.
