Dark Trooper : Space Trooper

Along with the feature films, many fans enjoy the Star Wars universe through video games, novels, comic books and toys. In 1998, Hasbro brought these different worlds together when it released a line of Expanded Universe action figures. Because this was the first time figures were being released based on non-movie characters, the production run and availability of this line was lower than that of previous film character-based figure lines. The relative scarcity of the line, combined with the popularity of the characters, made the Expanded Universe figures highly sought after by fans.

If you missed these figures the first time around, shop.starwars.com is now accepting preorders for two of these Expanded Universe figures: the DARK TROOPER and the SPACE TROOPER.

In the Dark Forces computer and video game by LucasArts, mercenary Kyle Katarn helps the Rebel Alliance track down and destroy a new type of stormtrooper being developed by the Empire in a project called DARK TROOPER.

In the novel and comic adaptation of Heir to the Empire, Grand Admiral Thrawn commands the Imperial Army five years after the Battle of Endor. His innovative tactics lead to the creation of the SPACE TROOPER. These specialized stormtroopers wear full-body armor allowing them to operate in deep space.
