[ Biography ]

Serving as Executive Producer, Kennedy developed the ILM Commercials Division. He also helped to establish the SABRE Project, ILM's real-time interactive film-resolution compositing facility. He produced the visual effects shots on the Lucasfilm productions, Radioland Murders and the Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions. Kennedy has also worked as senior producer for the ILM work on Paramount/Fox's Titanic, as producer for the ILM work on Disney's Deep Rising, and as producer for all the visual effects work on Universal's Simon.

Tom Kennedy was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and attended the University of Santa Clara where he studied Philosophy and Psychology. He began his start in the film business when his roommate brought home one of the first imported video porta packs (a small portable camera operated by batteries), and he began making documentaries.

Kennedy has since won ITVA Golden Reels and the bronze award from the New York Film Festival for camera and editing on The Taming of Black Canyon, a documentary on the history of the Hoover Dam. His work on Pioneer XI - the Jupiter Flyboy, the first public telecast of an unmanned space flight, earned him a citation from N.A.S.A. He also directed tape operations for Our Encounter with Saturn.
