Pete Comandini worked with Lucasfilm for almost three years doing standard testing on the Star Wars Special Editions. He matched the original 1977 film with the new footage and adjusted the color and contrast, consciously making the look of the film "cooler."

Comandini was born in Los Angeles, California. He started at the bottom of the business in the shipping department at Panicolor. He then worked for Technicolor and Universal and has since founded YCM Laboratory.
